This fellowship program "provides students an opportunity to participate in a fellowship project that is directly related to their field of study. Under the NNEMS program, a range of fellowship activities are offered to help students increase their knowledge of environmental issues while refining their professional skills. The projects are specifically narrow in scope, allowing students to complete the research project while working full-time at the EPA during the summer or part-time during the school year."

Estimated total program funding is $50,000, with five awards expected.
