This $120 million program "is aimed squarely at classrooms and the all-important relationship between educators and students. An LEA or consortia of LEAs receiving an award under this competition will build on the lessons learned from and the progress of States and districts in implementing reforms in the four core educational assurance areas through Race to the Top and other key programs."

These "4-year awards will range from $4 million to $30 million, depending on the population of students served through the plan." A series of webinars for applicants begins August 7, 2013.

Three charter school organizations won a total of nearly $70 million as part of the 2012  Race to the Top-District Competition.
