Twice Considered: Charter Schools and Student Achievement in Utah

This report from the National Center for the Study of Privatization in Education examines student achievement and demographics in charter schools in Utah and compares traditional public schools. The report suggest that the performance of charter schools is held back by the “low effectiveness and high student mobility of newly-established charter schools,” but “when charter schools gain more experience they become as effective as traditional public schools, and in some cases more effective than traditional public schools.”
