State Policy
State charter school laws and policies can create barriers for charter schools or they can facilitate the development and expansion of high-quality charter schools throughout the state. Caps on the number of charters, organizations allowed to authorize charter schools: all are governed by state laws. The National Charter School Resource Center provides easy access to useful resources that will help the charter school community understand the role of state policy in expanding the number of high-quality charter schools in states across the country.
