National Authorizer-Charter School Catalog

The National Authorizer-Charter School Catalog is a publicly accessible database that links every charter school across the country with the authorizer granting its charter. Developed by the National Charter School Resource Center (Resource Center), the Catalog provides detailed information about charter school approval, renewal, and closure decisions. Links to more information about each charter school and authorizer are also provided. Parents, policymakers, and researchers, can tap into a wide range of information, including:

  • Individual authorizer policies and practices
  • Most recent and upcoming renewal dates for charter schools
  • Types of schools that specific authorizers charter
  • Demographic and academic performance information
The database draws on information from an annual survey of authorizers, administered by the Resource Center and funded by the U.S. Department of Education. Additional information and support is provided by the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools, National Association for Charter School Authorizers, and State Education Agencies.
