Connecting with the Community: Learning from the Success of Twin Cities International Elementary School
Description
The National Charter School Resource Center hosted a webinar May 9, 2012, which explored the innovative charter school model at Twin Cities International Elementary School in Minneapolis. The school was founded by educational leaders of the East African community to provide students with a rigorous educational option in a culturally sensitive environment.
Our featured presenters were Dr. Randal Eckart, the School Director, and Kelli Wilson, Assistant Director of Curriculum and Instruction and English as a Second Language Coordinator. They highlighted the school’s mission, discussed their history and academic outcomes, and described the innovative programs and services they have implemented to support the success of ELLs at Twin Cities International.
