U.S. Department of Education Seeks Director for Charter Schools Program

The U.S. Department of Education is seeking applicants for the position of Director of the Charter Schools Program (CSP).
The director oversees the administration of six grant programs, which currently total nearly $250 million per year, as well as technical assistance, evaluation, and dissemination programs. There is currently a staff of nine.
The annual salary range for the position is $123,758 to $155,500. The job is a permanent career position.
“The CSP Director is a critically important job for the charter schools movement,” Acting CSP Director Scott Pearson, deputy of the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Innovation and Improvement, wrote in an e-mail announcing the position. “The person in this position has an extraordinary ability to influence national charter school policy and to support charter schools around the country."
