News Details

The U.S. Department of Education has announced 73 grants totaling about $24.4 million to support professional development for teachers and other educational personnel who work in elementary and secondary school classrooms with English learners.

The grants go to higher education institutions that partner with local school districts or state education agencies, projects that in some cases involve charter schools.

The National Charter School Resource Center is hosting a series of webinars in 2012 to help provide the charter school community with the tools and knowledge needed to effectively serve English language learners.
