Groff Departs as Head of National Alliance for Public Charter Schools

The National Alliance for Pubilc Charter Schools (NAPCS) announced Sept. 16, 2011, the departure of President and CEO Peter C. Groff.

Groff will go to the Black Alliance for Educational Options, where he will be a senior advisor to oversee legislative outreach efforts, according to a statement released by NAPCS. The statement also said Groff will focus on "leadership development with black elected officials and forming stronger coalitions with traditional civil rights organizations and community groups on issues related to education reform."

Ursula Wright, Chief Operating Officer at NAPCS, has been named the interim president and CEO.
