Defense Department Group Offers Special Education Training Programs
News Details
A series of special education training models are being made available by the Department of Defense Education Activity's Educational Partnership to any educator or support staff serving military families, including charter schools.
The modules, available at no cost, cover mediation and conflict resolution, classroom behavior management, strategies for students who have difficulty with mathematics and reading, and autism spectrum disorders, among other topics.
The nature of the modules makes them valuable to teachers seeking new knowledge and skills, or to schools and local education agencies seeking to implement the specified practices collectively, according to a Partnership announcement.
Facilitator guides provide additional resources for each module and include implementation and evaluation content. The modules can be customized to fit local needs and provide immediate support interventions for teachers.
Find out how to order the training modules at http://www.militaryk12partners.dodea.edu/resources.cfm?colId=sped. The modules were developed through a contract with Cambium Learning Group.
