Charter School Among Grant Winners in $28 Million Innovative Approaches to Literacy Program

A charter school is among 46 recipients of grants under the U.S. Department of Education’s $28 million Innovative Approaches to Literacy Program, which is designed to improve literacy skills for students in high-need districts and schools.
The funding announced September 28, 2012, represents the first year of aid for the two-year grants, which include projects in 21 states and Washington, D.C., where Eagle Academy Public Charter School was awarded $447,650.
