Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation
The Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation collects and donates musical instruments to schools, including charter schools, to keep music alive in the nation’s schools. Due to limited resources and high demand, all grants from the Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation are by invitation only. Schools from across the country are invited to submit a pre-qualification form by August 1, 2012, to be considered for Michael Kamen Grants.
The following guidelines apply for Michael Kamen grants:
- Must be a Title 1 school and/or serve at least 50 percent of student population qualifying for the National School Lunch Program
- Established music program during regular school day must be at least 3 years old (Orff/classroom music only will not be considered)
- Must have an existing inventory of musical instruments
- Individual schools must apply separately
