Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellowship Program
This program "provides a unique professional development opportunity for accomplished K-12 educators in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) to serve in the national education arena. Fellows spend eleven months working in a Federal agency or in a U.S. Congressional office, bringing their extensive knowledge and experience in the classroom to education program and/or education policy efforts."
As part of the program:
- Host offices provide a designated office space and agency/office specific orientation and training.
- Einstein Fellows receive a monthly stipend of $6,000 plus a $1,000 housing allowance.
- Einstein Fellows have a travel allowance for approved travel related to their host agency assignments and their own professional development. The travel stipends vary by agency, but average a minimum of $3,800 per year.
- Einstein Fellows also are reimbursed for moving/relocations expenses up to a maximum amount for the year that varies by sponsoring agency.
